Project Engineer
Position Overview
The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and on schedule, and is the middleman between the Project Manager, Design Team, and Owner, and in charge of document control for the project. From bidding and preconstruction to closeout, The Project Engineer assists in the management of projects under the Project Manager and with the entire project team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager in managerial and administrative aspects of a project. This includes estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
Work with the owner early in the process in order to facilitate the design process with the chosen design professionals
Work with the Project Manager to ensure that an accurate and complete estimate for the project is prepared
Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
Assist in overseeing the buyout process and to a selection of subcontractors.
Coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure safety, quality control, and schedule.
Attend meetings with Owners and the construction team.
Must be able to assist in managing multiple projects at once, up to the Walen standard of quality of work.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)
Experience with Viewpoint, Building Connected, or other project tracking software is strongly preferred.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
