Project Manager

  • Position Overview

The Project manager is responsible for managing all contractual responsibilities and has full profit and performance responsibility for assigned projects. The Project Manager will coordinate, lead and monitor all aspects of a project, from participation in bidding and estimating process to post-construction and closeout.

The Project Manager directs all internal project team members and communicates with the owner, architect, consultants, and subcontractors. Responsibilities include the project schedule, budget control, shop drawing/submittal log, construction meetings, change orders, project quality control, Owner, Subcontractor, and supplier contracts, and safety through punch list and client satisfaction.

  •  Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. This includes being proficient in estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation.

  • Work with the owner early in the process in order to facilitate the design process with the chosen design professionals

  • Ensure that an accurate and complete estimate for the project is prepared. Project Managers work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings.

  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.

  • Oversee the buyout process and to a selection of subcontractors.

  • Coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure safety, quality control, and schedule.

  • Conduct progress meetings with Owners and the construction team.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at once, up to the Walen standard of quality of work.

  • Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Project Manager for commercial construction projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)

  • Experience with Viewpoint, Building Connected, or other project tracking software.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
